Websites for Literature Lovers

Leopold Franz Kowalski, “Reading”

I’m currently inundated with students essays and so am not posting an essay today, referring you instead to Flavor Wire’s “25 Best Websites for Literature Lovers.” (Thanks to Rachel Kranz for alerting me to it.)

Some of these websites I visit regularly (like the New Yorker’s “Page Turner”) and some I’m learning about for the first time (like The Millions). Most of them focus on contemporary literature and don’t do much with the classics so there’s still a place for Better Living through Beowulf (which sadly isn’t mentioned). In fact, I quarrel with “the best” designation because I know of several fine websites and blogs that deal with older works and authors. When I have time, I’ll compile my own list.

I’ll be back tomorrow with an essay.
